RULES
There aren't many rules that you need to follow here at Sectumsempra. The few that we do have are basically just to keep everything running as smoothly as possible. I don't think they're all that hard to follow.
Also, keep in mind that there is also an RPG guide (for those of you who are just starting out) and a FAQ's section for those questions that everyone seems to have.
If you have any questions (those not already addressed in the FAQ's section), feel free to PM any admin on the site. We're all pretty easy going here.
1. Respect is the main thing we all need to keep in mind. When you respect the people you're RPing with, things tend to flow a lot smoother. Now this isn't to say that your character has to respect other characters. Here at Sectumsempra, we encourage your characters to argue to their hearts' content.
2. Language. We don't actually censor a lot of the language on this site. I do realize that there are some as young as thirteen on here--and I would ask them to come to me if they have any problem with this rule. However, we aren't going censor most unless we're asked to.
3. Spamming. Spamming is a post made that is basically nothing. I consider spam to be anything less than at least one solid paragraph. I prefer you write more. Write as much as you can. Detail your posts--what is your character doing, feeling, thinking, saying. What's around the room. When they look away, who are they looking at or what do they see. It really isn't difficult to make a decent sized post with some meat to it!
4. Competitions. We do have competitions for house points. I recommend and highly encourage you to PARTICIPATE in them. It's not mandatory, of course, but I would like to see everyone getting into it.
5. This one isn't really a rule so much as it is me forewarning you. You should know that the grounds and the castle are haunted. (Why can be found in the plot, if you're curious or don't already know.) The Black Lake is home to Inferi, the Forbidden Forest is home to even more dangerous things. Now--as we all know, we like our characters to have threads in these places. And we all like to pretend like things are there but that they don't actually attack. Here on Sectumsempra, we aren't leaving that up to you. Random lake threads WILL be infiltrated--whether private or not--by an Inferi account. Forest threads WILL be infiltrated. Any sort of haunted area could be infiltrated at ANY time.
6. Password protected common rooms. All common rooms ARE password protected. Now, as you may have more than one character, you'll probably end up with multiple passwords up your sleeve. It IS okay to post in another common room IF you've been invited by someone OF THAT HOUSE. You may NOT create "open" threads in any common room but your own.
7. Sorting. You will be sorted based on your application. This makes less work for both of us. One less form you've got to fill out and one less we've got to read. I think it's win-win.
I'd say that about wraps it up for rules! ^.^ If you've got a question or feel that something is missing--just PM someone. We'll let you know whatever you need.
