[[OPEN]]
Sunday. Late in the afternoon. Outside rain was pouring down and it seemed someone up there was trying to drown the world in water. Or at least Hogwarts cause after breakfast this morning the rain had started coming down hard and fast. With Nate strapped against her front in some baby carry thing she had made from his baby blanket Reese walked between the shelves of books.
It was close to Nathan’s nap time and already the little guy had closed his eyes, practically falling asleep against his mothers chest while wrapped in his warm blanket. This morning Reese had finished reading the few books Dane had bought her this summer and as Reese used Nathan’s nap time to get some free time for herself she needed to get a few new books to read.
Though, she had no idea what books the library here had. After all it was not the library she had played hide in seek in with Gage a few summers ago. Although playing hide and seek with Gage was never as innocent as it sounded. But…way besides the point right now. Still, a small smirk played on her lips when she thought back about it. Oh Gage, he was something different alright. Something, hot, addictive and exciting different.
Damien Renton.
Another slytherin who always managed to make her heart skip a beat every now then. Not in the I-Love-You- kind of way but more in the: Damn, he’s fcuking hot kind of way. And then of course you had Allena, cute as always. Yeah, Reese had some good memories about old Hogwarts and its students and former students.
Shaking the thoughts from her mind she stopped in front of a shelve, letting her finger run over the backs of the books. There had to be something light to read right? Something that would make her mind come out of the gutter. Cause right now that was one place her mind could not be right now, not after she had been warned not to stay too long in the library?
What the hell was that about anyway?

Gage was basically out to get away from the potions room in any way that he could. What was once his favorite subject was now driving him absolutely insane. Granted, Vera was about as sexy as teachers come--but the whole working under her thing, that was more than sufficiently awkward. She commanded him. She held power over him. Hell, she scared him, to be honest.
The point?
He needed to get away for a bit. Normally he didn't like to hang around the library but that's where he'd gone today. It wasn't like he could go to the kitchens. He'd already experienced Helen once and that fat bitch ghost scared the SHIT out of him. It wasn't like he could go fcuk around in the dungeons. The only dungeon open besides the potions room and the Slytherin common room was Dungeon Five and even he wasn't a big enough ass to think he could brave whatever the fcuk came along with that room. He couldn't go to the pitch as the pitch was nothing more than a fog-covered swampland. With creatures. Couldn't go to the Black Lake as it was infected with Inferi. God damn where in this school could you still go?
Exactly--which was why he was in the library.
The library had changed since the school had gone through it's troubles. It was no longer the serene, safe haven for all the book worms. It was one of those "get your shit and get out" rooms. Nothing extraordinary had happened in there, but there was no telling when an angry ghost or some other scarey beastie of some kind was going to start terrorizing. Still--it was a lot safer than any of the previous mentioned rooms and so that's where he'd gone.
Smiling upon seeing Reese, he snuck up behind her (probably not the smartest thing, in retrospect, given the circumstances of the school and such), leaning in just beside her ear. He'd already seen her a few times this year but this was the first time he'd seen her outside of the damn potions room so she probably would not expect him. Which meant as soon as he did this, he'd need to move. Quickly.
"Hey there gorgeous," he said quietly, backing up as he did so just in case she turned around swinging. With the state of Hogwarts now, it was often hard to tell what was lurking behind you. A hit first, ask later policy was a good policy to have.
Gage remembered the fun he and Reese used to have in this library. It was weird, rememberin that and knowing now that her fiance had died and she now had a kid. That had to be tough. Well, duh, that was kind of a given.
"How you doin' Mack?"

They really had done a number on Hogwarts hadn’t they? Death Eaters, The Dark Lord or whoever (or whatever) had surely been having some fun with this place. It used to be such a great school and fun to just hang out in but now? Now Reese couldn’t even leave her baby boy out of her sight. There were no walks around the lake, no sitting in the sun in the courtyard, no watching quidditch matches and no trips to Hogsmeade. Even the library was said to be dangerous.
Reese wasn’t one who got scared easily, if something was haunting the place –like they used to say about the Shrieking Shack- she wanted to go check it out herself. Well she would have in the past, now she needed to play it all safe cause of Nathan. He already lost his dad, she wasn’t going to make him loose his mother too. But, the library was still alright, sort of. And even if it wasn’t a 100% safe she would be able to defend Nate and herself, after all she wasn’t a bad witch.
Still, why was she listening for any sound of movement? For any sort of evidence she wasn’t alone? Call it motherly instinct but Reese had the feeling she might not be on her own entirely. It sure did made her feel nervous and her heartbeat was slightly raised. Sighing she ran a hand through her hair. No, this was ridiculous. They wouldn’t let students into a library if it wasn’t safe. So there was nothing there. Period.
"Hey there gorgeous."
She literally jumped and screamed when she heard the voice right besides her ear. Books got launched from their shelves and loose papers were flying everywhere causing a rain of…well...paper. Shelves swayed for a moment before they regained their balance, deciding to not tumble over onto either Reese & Nate or whatever the fcuk was behind her. Turning around with the speed of light her eyes were widened from fear and all colour had left her face. Her arms immediately formed a protective barrier around her son who, of course had woken up from his mothers scream, had now started to cry his little lungs out.
“WHAT THE FCUK IS WRONG WITH YOU, YOU FCUKING WANKER?!” she snapped at him, the moment she recognized the ‘thing’ to be Hogwarts own Gage Mason. Her chest was heaving up and down from the lack of air she had been getting from him scaring the shit out of her. Immediately her eyes narrowed, a sign you’d better start running as fast as you could or hide for cover. Had he lost his Goddamned mind?!
“How the fcuk do you think I’m doing with you almost giving me fcuking heart attack?! Oh yes, Gage Mason sure had left a mark on her a few years ago with his love of the use of the word fcuk. Pressing Nathan to her chest she gently rocked him, trying to get him to calm down and stop crying. “It’s okay honey…you’re alright,” her voice suddenly a lot softer, when she turned her attention towards her son for a moment. Rubbing her boys back she looked up at Gage again, still feeling rather on the edge of really having a heart attack.

Gage couldn't help but giggle a little bit when Reese screeched out obnoxiously and jumped higher than he'd expected. He watched the havoc reeked, papers flying all over the place, bookshelves teetering a bit. When it calmed down, she turned to face him and he tried to hide the smile that was still firmly in place.
She started yelling which only made him grin wider and he bit his tongue to at least refrain from laughing out loud. "What's wrong with me? Damn Reese I was only saying hello. You sound like I did something wrong." His smile threatened to widen even more and he brought a hand up to his face to cover his mouth.
God he'd missed this. Reese was a fun person to sneak up on. Incredibly fun. Although he was used to her calming down once she saw it was him. Apparently the fact that she had her son with her put her nerves into overdrive? Because she wasn't calming down toward him at least.
"I didn't mean to put your heart into failure, Mack," he laughed before pouting a bit. "Don't look at me like that. I can't help it if I'm so incredibly badass that I scrared you. I stick to what I said--there is nothing wrong with saying hello." There might have been something wrong with sneaking up and muttering in her ear when they were in a place that was known to be haunted--but he didn't say that out loud. That would be admitting that he was wrong and Gage didn't like to do that.
Ever.
"So how's little Nate doin' today," he finally grinned, his eyes on the baby boy. He'd come to feel protective over him just like he did with Reese. Apparently it was gonna carry on through but whatever.

Reese groaned angrily when Gage obviously thought all of this was hilarious. Scaring the shit out of someone in a haunted school was asking for trouble, and so not funny! People could seriously die from a heart attack thinking some bad ass thing was going to get them. Yesterday she had ran into a cranky ghost and that had totally not been funny, the bloody thing had chased her through half the school threatening to do something to Nathan. And all of that because she had accidentally walked right trough the thing when it had been hovering in the middle of a corridor.
“This is so not funny Mase!” her voice higher than normal, and she could still feel her heart race in her chest. “Jerk…” she muttered this time while punching him against the shoulder. However, if you looked good a small smile played on her lips. In the end it had still been a bad ass standing behind her although Reese was really glad it was Gage and not some killer ghost.
Rocking a crying Nathan in her arms Reese rolled her eyes at Gage. “Seriously, one of these days I will hex your ass of thinking you are some killer ghost if you scare me like that.” Alright well maybe she was a bit jumpy but was that really her fault? She ran a hand through her hair when Nathan had calmed down and now just kept gripping her shirt…pulling the material more to him in a way it looked like he was hanging on to his mother for dear life.
Giving in, a smile appeared on her lips. Still she couldn’t get really angry at him, she still had a thing for Gage Mason or so it seemed. A pouting Gage, how could you get truly angry at him like that? “Don’t give yourself that much credit honey, you just got lucky this time.” A soft chuckle leaving her lips. God he was still as cute as ever. Some things hadn’t changed on Hogwarts had they? Luckily Gage Mason was one of those things.
“He’s doing alright. I was just about to put him down for his nap.” Looking down at Nathan again she softly started rubbing his back, already feeling his tiny body relax again. “Just need a book or something to keep me busy while he sleeps.”
