Hogwarts has been deserted for several years. When a Coup d'eat of the Wizarding world by the Death Eaters stormed over, the world changed and became macabre. It was a dark time for the world, beating out the Salem Witch Trials. Even worse, it was a genocide by their own kind. Years later, stability was returned to Britain and a 'normal' life is attempted to put into effect. However the morbid scars of the past couldn't be covered up, and Hogwarts has a long way to go before it's cleared of its past. Faith was restored by parents when the Ministry promised safety and learning like the 'old days', and Hogwarts became populated again. Working and learning around the stains of dark magic and dark creatures, students have adapted to the reminders of Dark Magic. A facade of high hopes and joy try to elevate the halls- everyone knows life must go on. However, much like Sectumsempra, when a limb is severed, no magic can bring it back.

[ A MUST read by ALL students] The Castle:Dungeon FiveWhen Hogwarts was taken over by Death Eaters, all Muggleborns and blood traitors were taken to Dungeon Five. It was a torture chamber most nightmares can't even compare to. The screams that haunt this room will never die. Dungeon Five is a room that remains a mystery even to the most brilliant of witches and wizards. The walls are cursed, stains unable to be removed. Blood still covers the floor, no matter how many times a mop is dragged across it. Students know the room is off limits but as there is no way of removing it, or even locking it, due to charms and enchantments put on it by the Death Eaters, there are always a few who like to test their luck by entering the cursed room. Fortunately only one student has ever died. The Chamber of SecretsTwice in history, this secret chamber has been opened. Once a person has died. In the attack, it was opened once more. People assumed that the basalisk was the only animal that lurked within it's walls--but they were wrong. Some of the most dangerous creatures known to wizardkind came out of the chamber, killing anyone who wasn't of pure decent. Trained killing machines. The chamber stands empty today, but most still fear going inside. The KitchensHelen VonSchnitzel was a girl that attended Hogwarts during the time in which it was taken over. She was an over-indulger. Every night, after curfew, Helen could be found gorging herself after hours even with the danger that lurked around every corner. Her gluttonous ways led to her eventual demise when one night, as per usual, she made her way to the kitchens and once there, was killed in a very unsightly way. Helen now haunts the kitchens, making sure anyone there for a midnight snack does not get it--as she was deprived so many years before. The Balcony One would think that one of the highest places at Hogwarts would be among the most haunted with the lost souls of suicides; however, one would assume incorrectly. The most haunting and chilling thing about the balcony is the view, and we do not allow third years or younger on the balconies. Once in a while, you might be lucky enough to catch a good scenic view- however, any horseplay is off limits. The Grounds + Beyond: The Black Lake Take special note of the "NO SWIMMING" signs. It is also suggested that one doesn't wade in the water- or even touch it for that matter. Inferi now infest the lake, drowning anyone who touches the water. It is suspected that they were placed there to stop any intruders by way of the lake. If one comes across an Inferius, use fire or some source of light to render them idle. The Courtyards Red Caps (goblin-like), since they are prone to areas where human blood was spilled, roam around the courtyards. Easily deflected by charms and hexes, they pose little danger to our students. Younger students, beware. Elder students, please keep a look out for your schoolmates. The Forbidden Forest The forest has always been forbidden, however its level of forbiddingness has gone to a new level. The Acromantula has been noted to thrive in the forest, and even slight rumor of Dementor activity reached the ears of the school authorities. More Inferi are also rumored to be wandering the forests- students are not, under any circumstances, permitted in the woods. The Quidditch Pitch Currently in the stages of attempted renovation, the Pitch was useless to its owners for a period of time. Unkempt and used seemingly as a dump, the grounds of the pitch became marsh-like and a damp fog extends over it from the Forest. Two of the four locker rooms are lopsided and off limits to any student. The courtyard and flying classroom have been connected, giving House teams a place to practice. HogsmeadeHogsmeade was hit harder than anyone had originally imagined possible. The entire village is now overrun with banshees. Screaming, screeching, awful cries can be heard throughout the different buildings. Hogsmeade weekends are rare--and when students do go, they're forced into temoprary deafness. Banshees aren't the only creatures running loose in Hogsmeade, however. There have been rumors of vampires as well...
